Weekly Check in Post

Check-in time again, dear writers, so how's it going? Are you still at the sharpening-pencils stage, or have you progressed to re-arranging-everything-on-your-desk-for-ease-of-access? Have you questioned your sanity several times since you scrawled your name on our dotted line?

Have you romped ahead and already made your font selection (and a list of Useful-Names-For-Original-Characters, just on the off-chance) or are you already *does excited mod dance* well into the writing? Do please let us know, because we'd love to hear from you!

Not a lot of sanity here. I wrote about 40 pages last year--but haven't had two hour to scrape together so far to sit and write a bunch this year. Despairing so far! Plan to write at least three words starting now.

I've good news and bad news. I scrutinised the rules and there wasn't a single mention of 'sanity' in them (Yay!) but there were an awful lot of mentions of 'words, so those three words you were planning on writing are going to come in jolly handy!

I'm cheating :-( I've nearly finished writing a story already, but I know it needs cleaning up and I keep putting it off. This will set a fixed deadline and encourage me to pull my finger out to get it ready to post it online come October!

My defense? I'm new to all this :-)

Not a mod (and ya'll should be very, very grateful for that) but I figure anything that gets a story off of your hard drive and in our hot little hands is a good thing. And you can't have writing without editing. Good luck but I have faith you'll get it done.
