Weekly check in post

Hello and welcome to the check in post *waves at everyone*.

Just a quick check in from me this week and I thought I’d share a few random links I’ve found with you, because I do like my links :D:

Finding tips on self-editing at The Blood-Red Pencil

Purdue online writing lab: general writing resources

Grammar comics at The Oatmeal

Hack your way out of writer‘s block

Writing in the age of distraction

12 rules of PIXAR story telling in Lego form

Hope you find some of them interesting!

And of course this is the chance for all writers and artists to let us know how you are getting on with your drawing, vidding, photoshopping, planning, writing, editing, plotting, and more, ask us any questions you have, and just generally chat away.

Oh and I loved this cartoon so much I had to share but have my fingers crossed that writer’s block is a stranger to you all.

I'm pleased to say my story is finished. It's at its final edit. It's about 55,000 words. And that's after I swore I would stay at the minimum this year. Spank me know.

As for my art, I've got two title pieces done so far and I'm working on a vid trailer. I'll play more depending on my inspirations.

The Pixar rules are adorable! Thanks.

Not quite Check-in of doom but certainly a big wobble... gone down with a virus bad enough can't write, house full of Olympic visitors, kittens omg exhausting... haven't really progressed from the 10k draft and worried for my lovely artist and equally lovely beta :(

::wobble::

I LOVED the Pixar list with Legos and the Oatmeal grammar comics. I could look at these all day and do not have the time. But thanks, I will look in on them again soon. ;-D

Calvin and Hobbes brightens any day.

Hilarious is more like!

The Oatmeal is fantastic and I was FINALLY able to understand the difference between their and they´re, so thank you thank you thank you; I´m absolutely sure I´ll do it wrong again though, but when I´m in doubt I´ll know where to look!

Made a little progress this week. Maybe 350 words. I'm getting there, it's just a difficult bit and a difficult time for me. It's nearly over.

My youngest son and I had a good giggle over the grammar comics. I found the writing in the age of distraction link very helpful too. I just can't get with the articles that tell you to disconnect your internet and this article is all about managing your online and writing time better.

LOVE Calvin and Hobbes. :D

Nothing has changed from my last check in... oh wait, I was reading over my first lot of edits again and added a sentence. *g*

Well, houseguest left yesterday. I had to get into work early today, but I can start concentrating on the story again.

If I can stop listening to Devo, which puts me in the wrong mood. Must write Doyle argument. MUST write Doyle argument. :(
