Hello!

We're in the home stretch now, oh yes we are. \o/

I'm sure some of you have long since finished and are wondering why it isn't time to just post already.

Others of you are frantically staring at the clock, whimpering at the loss of every second you're not able to spend beating your story, artwork or vid in to shape, preferably with a cricket bat.

Whether you feel the need to gloat a little (go ahead, you've earned it) or to wail in to a sympathetic ear, now's your chance.

.

Have recovered from the amnesia, so I've moved on from what did I sign up for again? to WHYOHWHYOHWHY....Heh.

I have maybe three missing scenes, all vitally important. Only got a vague idea of the ending. Still coming in under the 15K despite my best tinkering efforts. Yesterday while doing a read-through I spotted so many holes I reckon the plot is now a watering can.... but apart from that, everything's going along more or less as I predicted \o/

Quite some time ago there was a fad for children's books where you could choose the ending. I have another, different idea. Readers could write in with their own ending in the comments. Good, yes?

I mean, I have a sort of nearly a possibility of a glimmer of a potential idea. I had an idea. Then I faffed with it and it went away again. Ack.

The rest of it seems to hang together.

Ah, sorry to hear that... how about this 'and Bodie and Doyle lived happily ever after in a treehouse and learned to speak squirrelese..'?? Works for me!

See, this 'supply your own ending' idea could really work! That's two good ideas already *g*

I'm ready

My story's done and I've just been contacted by my artist about her wonderful work so I guess I'm ready. Now if I just had it posted. That's always so difficult for me.

My author is a saint having put up with me more or less vanishing, then bombarding her with almost-finished artwork... which of course, I now hate ... Erm *g* It'll all be fine, I'm just breathing into this paper bag for fun. Really *g*

I'm dying to start reading, but yay! for still having loads of time to go before the finishing line. \o/

Honestly, I've never had the ending of a story fight me as much as this one is. Arrgh. I've re-written it twice. I still haven't finished the second rewrite, although I think I now know what I need to do with it. It's only a few pages, but, gah, the most critical, of course. I have pinned my hopes on this weekend. No bike rides, no work, no anything. I must get it done.

(Never mind that I now want to write another short story for another fandom that is due Sept. 16.)

Exactly! I am being seduced! Especially since it's easy, rather than demanding a commitment from me! And also, it wants me, it doesn't demand that I change to suit it. Okay, it'll be over in a flash, but what's wrong with that?

The story is done--farmed it out to two editors, and have finished one edit and am going through the second. Far more relaxed than two weeks ago. My artist sent me a preliminary sketch and it is awesome.

i'm done, just incorporating the final beta's tinkerings.

My art work for my author is completed as well.

Do I get biscuits now?

Well, my first check in post in ... months - and mostly because I was too ashamed to say I hadn't done anything :(.

But, I have had a major push and I am pleased to say I have typed "The End", it's where it belongs (at the end), there are no missing scenes, and I even have a title which jumped out at me as late as this weekend. In other words "woohoo, I've finished \o/".

It's now with my ever-patient beta, and I can relax and stop feeling guilty.

Can't wait to see what my artists come up with.

Positive vibes to everyone who's not quite there yet - there's still plenty of time.

Having dealt with the TSBB, i am now back on my Pros story full time. Big push for the next ten days, but should be do-able, and I refuse to let down my lovely artist with whom I have been having great discussions and who is a source of inspiration herself. Deadline, here I come!!!
:))

The deadline keeps creeping nearer and nearer and I'm the Queen of Procrastination.

I have a great story to work with, a wonderful patient writer, I know exactly what the art will look like, I know what I need, what I want, what it takes.

That's it.
Can somebody please give me a push? A shove, a kick ......whatever.
Please?

Uhhmm a short question, as you are my brilliant writer and you already know my art... well do I have to send it in later for a proof
;)

I love the BB <3 <3 <3

Pass me that cricket bat!

I am not wailing, because it is not a disaster. I am still some way from finishing, but my 'missing scenes' list is into single figures and I am confident that there will be a finishing before the deadline. My poor, poor betas, and my poor, poor artist assure me that they have not yet given me up for dead.

I really should be feeling more panicked than I am. But, hey. Been here before, and there was a story at the end of it.

And there will be another - what, fourteen? Fifteen? I dunno, but many more to read, so it will all be worth it. Yay!

Story is done - er, well, sort of! The pieces are all there - just needs a bit of polishing. At least I hope its only a bit...

Ironically, having got them out of the room they were stuck in two months ago, I now need to get them back into that room...

As long as the tea supplies hold out, I've got this *g*

Re the final draft deadline - two things I'd like to check with you....

1. Ill be finished by 23rd but it wont be beta-ed. My beta will look at it in the period 23rd - 27th. I hope this is OK?

2. My failure to write quickly means that I will be down to the wire (as always). This is hard for my lovely artist, I know. Is it possible I could have a late Oct posting date, as it will give her more time to do the work she has planned to do.

*bites lip and looks hopeful*
