Hello!
We're in the home stretch now, oh yes we are. \o/
I'm sure some of you have long since finished and are wondering why it isn't time to just post already.
Others of you are frantically staring at the clock, whimpering at the loss of every second you're not able to spend beating your story, artwork or vid in to shape, preferably with a cricket bat.
Whether you feel the need to gloat a little (go ahead, you've earned it) or to wail in to a sympathetic ear, now's your chance.

tinkeringefforts. Yesterday while doing a read-through I spotted so many holes I reckon the plot is now a watering can.... but apart from that, everything's going along more or less as I predicted \o/no subject

A watering can, eh? It's always nice when a story can serve multiple purposes. I have several plot holes to patch myself so you have my sympathies.

having put up with me more or less vanishing, then bombarding her with almost-finished artwork... which of course, I now hate... Erm *g* It'll all be fine, I'm just breathing into this paper bag for fun. Really *g*I'm dying to start reading, but yay! for still having loads of time to go before the finishing line. \o/

Date: 2014-09-10 10:04 pm (UTC)But, I have had a major push and I am pleased to say I have typed "The End", it's where it belongs (at the end), there are no missing scenes, and I even have a title which jumped out at me as late as this weekend. In other words "woohoo, I've finished \o/".
It's now with my ever-patient beta, and I can relax and stop feeling guilty.
Can't wait to see what my artists come up with.
Positive vibes to everyone who's not quite there yet - there's still plenty of time.

I am still some way from finishing, but my 'missing scenes' list is into single figures and I am confident that there will be a finishing before the deadline. My poor, poor betas, and my poor, poor artist assure me that they have not yet given me up for dead.
I really should be feeling more panicked than I am. But, hey. Been here before, and there was a story at the end of it.
And there will be another - what, fourteen? Fifteen? I dunno, but many more to read, so it will all be worth it. Yay!

2. My failure to write quickly means that I will be down to the wire (as always). This is hard for my lovely artist, I know. Is it possible I could have a late Oct posting date, as it will give her more time to do the work she has planned to do.

We ask you to turn in your final draft on the 23rd because we need the lead time to sort out the schedule for October and to make sure we don't have any last minute drop outs (life happens). We check to make sure it's met the minimum word requirement ant that it looks to be "intact." Most of us are writers ourselves so we know that almost all of you will continue to tweak your stories up until your posting time. :D
2) We ask you to submit your schedule requests along with your final draft. We ask that you decide on the date(s) to ask for in consultation with your artist so that you know you'll both be ready on that date. We try, as far as we possibly can, to meet everyone's request for a posting date but obviously the intent is to spread the postings out over the month of October so if ten writers ask for October 31st someone is going to be disappointed. As a reassurance I will tell you that in prior years this hasn't really been a big problem as some people like to post early in the month and some in the middle. No guarantees, we do need to see everyone's requested posting day(s), but for the most part people who've had to move have ended up on the 30th instead of the 31st, for instance. To this end it's good if you can give us a range of suitable days so we don't have to keep checking back with you (some people could post on the 29th or the 31st but not on the 30th because they have a day long commitment or some such)
