Of Angels and Angles by Sarah K
Title: Of Angels and Angles
Author name:

Artist name:

Archive to Pros Lib: Yes
Genre: Slash
Characters/Pairing: Bodie/Doyle
Word count: 36,000
Warnings: None needed.
Summary: Bodie hires a mechanic to keep his ship in one piece and gets more than he expected. After a few weeks, the Capri is running better than ever, but it won't do them any good if they're not alive to fly it. (Contains science-fiction and winged-Doyle. Please suspend disbelief before entering.)
Notes: This story started out as a dream: That was weird--Doyle had wings. I gotta write this down, man. It slowly morphed from crack-fic to something with a real plot, but it never would have made it there without help from certain awesome people.
I can't thank
sc_fossil enough for her fantastic art and vid. When I clicked on that vid and heard the opening chord of the music, I was just about delirious with glee. Making a vid for such a crazy AU couldn't have been easy, but she did a fantastic job.
Thanks to
squeeful for cheerleading, hand-holding, and good advice. I'll be your Sherlock any day.
And thank you to the mods of the Pros BB,
przed and
callistosh65. Thanks so much for putting this together for us!

A very enjoyable story in the tradition of Echo Answers and Suitable Gravity.

Almost forgot!
Kat, that vid actually made me laugh out loud a couple of times.

I read about the wings and wasn't sure what to expect, but then completely forgot about them, when the story and universe pulled me in.
When the wings made their first appearance, it fit perfectly with the flow of the story (had been wondering why Doyle was avoiding being touched etc.).
Would love for this universe to continue!
And the vid was great! Had seen it accidentally a few days before, and was looking forward to reading the story belonging with it.

*grins* I did, and I'm glad!
The story caught me right from the beginning and and there is so much banter and excitement and adventure in it, that I completely forgot that I normally don't like sci fi. (Probably because there are no extensive descriptions of technical stuff and future world scenarios!)
And even the fact that Doyle has wings fits perfectly to this Bodie, who is very protective, and he does everything to save Doyle's wings, because he understands that they are part of his personality.
I think I like it even better than Suitable Gravity.
Thanks!

Thanks a lot!
Oh, and the cover and vid (what a cool idea!) was as brilliant as the story! :D
