Weekly check in post!

A big hello and welcome to our latest check in post.

Thought I would start this post with links to a couple of sites that have some great stuff on them:

Internet Movie Car Database – Professionals section

Internet Movie Firearms Database – Professionals section

Next, as it is a Monday and we all need pretty things on a Monday, a few pics for you:

And lastly, as always, let us know how you are getting on in the comments, whether you are thinking, planning, plotting, writing, beta-ing, editing, cheerleading, or, like me, just waiting eagerly.

EDIT: In the comments [livejournal.com profile] golden_bastet linked to the seven point system which looks really interesting.

I am feeling rather chuffed. I sat down and wrote almost 10,000 words in three days and my rough draft is not only done, but the first edit is back from my hard-working beta.

The rough draft is just over the minimum final word count BUT, my beta has suggested another chapter needs to be inserted, so the story is going to grow some.

I'm probably not going to look at the story again before next weekend, but the way things are looking, I should have it done by the time the rough draft is due, which is good because that means I can then focus on the artwork I've signed up to do.

I think I killed my brain, though. *g* All I could do was sit and veg yesterday. Definitely back on track though and feeling ever so much happier!

Wow, I am amazed you wrote so much in 3 days! I've never done that on my best day. You rock.

And love the icon--whumping Doyle is always a good option in my book.

I'm pretty amazed myself, to be honest. I had serious doubts about whether I'd actually make it for a while.

Whumping Doyle is most definitely a good option.

psst, you up for a Brit-check for me once I get the rough draft wrangled?

10,000 in 3 days? My God. Were you super-glued to the keyboard?

I'm actually pretty dumbfounded that I managed that. Thank God for surf competitions! *g* (hubby was caught up watching the surf competition so he wasn't distracting me by talking to me *g*)

That's fantastic news! You're clearly in great shape for finishing, and before the rough draft deadline even!

And hey, I always find giving the story a bit of a rest before taking another run at it is always a good thing.

I applaud you signing up for art as well as a story. That's beyond me at the moment.

I was bound and determined I'd get the rough draft done at least this weekend so I'm pretty chuffed I actually managed it.

*nods* You catch all sorts of stupid little mistakes when you give your eyes a break from the story for a while.

Well, I remembered last year how I finished my story super early, and then was very antsy to post well before it was time to post... so I figured doing some art would be a good way to distract me. *g*

Some day I'll finish a challenge early, but this will not be that year. Heck, it may never be that year. I always make my deadlines, but usually by the skin of my teeth.

Good for you finishing your draft when you meant to.

I think I would kill for the ability to write 10,000 words in three days ...

Congratulations:D You're definitely there! looking forward to reading the story:)

I think I totally fried my brain doing that. It took me the week to recover. lol I think my record is 21K in 3 days - but that story just spewed out of me, I didn't even have to think about it.

Once the 'movie' starts playing in my head, I can get a lot written in a very short time.

Thanks!

21K in 3 days? Gulp ...

[identity profile] liriel1810.livejournal.com 2012-06-15 09:31 am (UTC)(link)
That was a one time thing only... and it happened years ago. ;) These days I'm doing amazing to get 2K a day on my good days.
