Your weekly check-in *and* a timely reminder

Reminder first:

ARTISTS' SIGN-UPS IN THE MONTH OF MAY!

Oh c'mon, admit it, you've been dying to spend three months drawing Bodie's right eyebrow, we ALL know it. :D

LOOK FOR THE SIGN-UP POST TOMORROW!

As to you writerly types, it's that time again, time to brag about how smart and talented your story is, how well it's doing in school... well, at least it's well mannered... or has a face only you could love. CONFESS ALL!

why

Bring on the stories, gimme gimme gimme.

do not bother me with these little details! *looks haughtily* ... then slinks away

Okay, I have rediscovered my Important Piece Of Paper, turned its contents into post-it notes, stuck the post-it notes over the desk in a linear fashion, found a large gap, panicked on the phone to [livejournal.com profile] murphybabe, grasped frantically at her suggestions, added more post-it notes, and now have fewer gaps in the outline and some scribbled conversations. Next: break down into scenes. Check I have all the plan in my head. And start writing!

I know I appear to be late starting, but I need that plan in place first!

Also:
*is adding dinosaur as we speak*
(Disclaimer: dinosaur may not remain in final draft)

Oh, no--mine does not have a dinosaur, sloat, weasel or badger. Is that all right? It does have a pony and a baby.

I actually wrote half a page yesterday but am (once again) off to work for overtime which is good for my bank account and the prospects of the Bisto con, but not writing.

Why yes, erm, of course it's a Shetland pony. Named Robin, as a matter of fact.

I'm sulking (again). I was convinced that I'd written at least 3000 words on the last plane journey. Turns out it wasn't even quite 1000. How can this be?

(awful, belated thought - what if I left them there? Tucked down the seat pocket thingy?)

not panicking

Got zero words, no plan, no idea, so a good deal worse off than I was two years ago at the same stage when I at least knew what story I wanted to write. But hey, I'm still optimistic (otherwise known as 'delusional').

There is something in what you say. I stared hard at one of your suggestions and a scene did in fact come to mind. Whether from a tiny scene a mighty fic might grow is another question, but hmmmm *strokes beard*... thanks, matey!

Actually wrote something and even typed it out. So far, it comes to the grand total of.... 571 words. Which is VERY NEARLY 4%! So, I'm practically finished....

In better news, the plot outline is building. Sort of.

Believe me, that approach has not escaped me ;)
