To give our 2018 Pros BB artists a heads-up on the way they'll be claiming their stories, here's an outline of the story claiming process.
The Artist Claiming post will go up on
Monday 9th July at 1600 Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
That is:-
0900 Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) for the US West Coast cousins
1200 Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) for the US East Coast cousins
1700 British Summer Time (BST) for the UK cousins
1800 Central European Summer Time (CEST) for the European cousins
If you're not in any of those time zones, you can use the World Clock Time Zone Converter to determine the time in your location.
The Artist Claiming post will contain the story summaries, under a cut, and without the writers' names. The post will be screened, so your friendly mods will be the only ones to see all comments. Artists should claim stories by adding a comment to the post which includes your first, second, third, and fourth choices.
The mods will do a first pass through the list, starting with the first comment, and assign each artist their first story. If your first choice story has already been claimed, you will be assigned your second pick. If your second pick has also already been claimed, you will be allocated your third pick, and so on. We chose this allocation method to ensure that:
• every artist has a decent chance of getting their first or second choice, and...
• artists who claim early will get their story assigned early, so they can get to work on art as quickly as possible.
Once you have been assigned a story, you'll be sent the rough draft of that story, so you don't have to work from just the summary, along with contact details of your writer. This year we've got more artists than writers, so some stories may get art from more than one artist.
If you have a question about the Artist Claiming process, please add it as a comment to this post.
Huge thanks once again to our artists for volunteering their time and talent for this year's Pros BB! :-)
