Date: 2021-05-29 03:39 am (UTC)I don't believe I've read any N.R.Walker - and it's Doyle who usually gets associated with boxing in the fic I've seen - but Bodie boxes in the titles, so it's fair game canon-wise.
Cage-fighting isn't culturally contemporary with the lads - martial arts were still big - (or bare-knuckle, really) - but as an AU, I'd buy a cage fighting Bodie.
And there's nothing to say someone couldn't have set up cage-fighting earlier than its adoption by mainstream popular culture - everything has roots somewhere. And that would make more sense if it's supposed to be an underground activity.
Personally, if you have a fic idea for it, I'd go for it :0)
