How's it going?
Already done and roughing out *next* year's Big Bang story?
Everything coming along nicely?
Pondering changing your name to Arthur and hiding out in Bognor Regis until the heat cools off?
Time to check in.
And, while you're at it, on a somewhat sillier note and IF you want to play, I was wondering if there might be a song or three that leap to mind when you think about your story.

Date: 2011-06-15 10:50 am (UTC)My story's songs:
#1 Crush -- Garbage (http://youtu.be/Z0X8W6E5xeU)
And yes, my sense of humour is a little off:
You Ain't Woman Enough to Take My Man -- Loretta Lynn (http://youtu.be/Cz1cPKtayNM)
Obviously the blokes in red are MI5 agents, look how unfocused they are, you know Cowley would never tolerate that. *nods*

Date: 2011-06-15 12:00 pm (UTC)I went to print my 70 pages, and the printer said "no" - I managed to drain three ink cartridges, LOL.
(But the draft needs WORK. Big time.)
It doesn't have a song (although the fic was originally inspired by a picture). If it did, it would be in a different language, and speak of the pain of love... maybe. LOL!

Date: 2011-06-15 12:20 pm (UTC)I"ve just asked EOS and she agrees with me: we are hopelessly songless. Although she's been quoting poetry in her section, apparently.... *g*

Date: 2011-06-15 12:20 pm (UTC)That's what we like, enthusiasm. *g*
I think that's the way it works sometimes, that a story develops its own theme tune.

Ouch! I'm glad my uni grants unlimited printing privileges.
"Love Hurts" sung in Serbo-croatian perhaps? Or some Vogon love poetry, that hurts everyone. *g*

As long as it's not Vogon poetry... unless it's a torture scene.

Date: 2011-06-15 02:03 pm (UTC)You must take evasive action. Stuff cheese in your ears and wrap your head in a towel for your own safety.
Alternatively, buy a spud gun and use some left over potatoes from the floddies to defend yourself.

Date: 2011-06-15 02:05 pm (UTC)Hey, four chapters are not to be sniffed at particularly when you already have 8,300 words in hand. *\o/*

Date: 2011-06-15 03:24 pm (UTC)I've got Bodie and Doyle ordering dinner at a restaurant, so at least they'll be fed while they languish waiting for me to return.
Songs...? I sing to myself all the time (literally, as Kat will attest to) but a song that's specially for Bodie and Doyle? Nothing springs to mind...will think on it.

Date: 2011-06-15 03:32 pm (UTC)Don't get too stressed out, it sounds like you have the story well in hand and the summary doesn't have to be that long.
I hope you have fun in Disneyland.
I actually meant a song that makes you think about the themes of your story more than anything, but hey, you can't really think about that without Bodie and Doyle, right? Right. :D

Date: 2011-06-15 07:28 pm (UTC)My story is inspired/based on a verse of a song, and my title is the song's title. *g* I dont' mind saying what it is but I wasn't sure if I was stepping out of bounds. :) I actually like using song titles for story titles and have done so many times.
I always check as many places as I can to be sure my title hasn't been used before.

Date: 2011-06-15 08:10 pm (UTC)I once stayed up very late writing and went to bed chuffed 'cos of the line I'd just written. When I got up the next morning and went to edit it I realized I still thought it was a brilliant line... and had thought so the first time I'd read it in one of Oscar Wilde's plays. *headdesk*

Date: 2011-06-15 08:12 pm (UTC)You might want to keep the title a secret for now if you're planning on posting it with your anonymous story summary... Y'know, for those people who haven't guessed what you're up to yet. *g*
55,000 words? So *you're* the one who's been hoarding them all. *stern eyebrows*

Date: 2011-06-15 08:26 pm (UTC)Yes. Seriously. Entire plot landed in my head in about ten seconds of listening (which was accidental in itself since I'd just downloaded it in a James Bond themes album...)

Date: 2011-06-15 08:32 pm (UTC)Well, if Madonna is going to bring me Halo fic I may have to re-evaluate my opinion of her. ♥
Hmmmm... Perhaps this is the answer to my BB dilemma, I should shop amongst the James Bond themes for plot ideas. Yes, perhaps Thunderball... or Goldfinger. Ahem...
