We're exactly one week from the deadline for the rough draft, so it's time for our weekly check in post.

So how are you doing? Are you confident you're going to make the minimum for the deadline? Are you way over the minimum word count? Are you completely done?

Anyone having any difficulties? If so, throw your problem out there and maybe someone can help you out.

We'd love to hear from all of our writers out there. There are two gentlemen from CI5 who are especially eager to start reading:

Tell the lads the rough draft is ready to send! The story finally has a beginning, a middle and an end. I've sent it out for its first beta - so we'll have to wait to see how that goes!

Question - if I have the plot finished - just need to clean up and add some detail - do I still need to send an outline, or just a summary?

I'm over the limit (have everything needed for the deadline), and there's an ending (of sorts) and all; but now I'm rearranging sections and filling in gaps (in between some 10-hr days at work :(). I'm doing that, and thinking that Doyle's still OOC, and there isn't enough Bodie, and there needs to be a little more in the plot... but I'm working on it, and as long as nothing wacky happens next weekend, I should be in a pretty decent place for the 28th. Although I could use a good sleeping-in right now, LOL.

And then comes the getting of the feedback. :-)

I'm looking at the b&w picture on the wall in your photo; if it's the one I think it is, someone has a great sense of humor. :D

Well, I'm still at 8,300 words having been distracted by a much shorter 1,500 word challenge. But I will have a summary and an outline ready for next week. Will this do. I am very confident of finishing the whole thing by end September.

That's fantastic news! Congrats on getting the rough draft done.

We'll be posting the details of what you need to send tomorrow. You will need to send both your rough draft and your summary. The rough draft will go to the artist, so it should be as complete as you can make it.

Sounds like you're well ahead of the game, in spite of those 10 hour days at work. (Hope those end for you soon.) Good luck with getting it all done. And remember, you only need a rough draft for the 28th. It doesn't have to be polished or even done. (Mine certainly isn't going to be done by then. :-/)

I'm well over the minimum but not finished, and did write a (very) rough outline and summary before I left for Disneyland. Now that I am back, hope to have time to write during the rest of my week vacation. The lads are still valiantly ordering dinner at a restaurant, waiting for me to come back and get them back into the plot.

I have not only completed my rough draft, but have received the beta back and made the changes and fixed the (rather a lot of) continuity errors. So, aside from a quick glance over to make sure there's nothing too blatantly not British in it... this baby is DONE! (and I have the summary done too!)

Now comes the really hard part... waiting to post! lol

I've reached the word limit for the draft, well exeeded it actually, and what I have is currently winging it's way to my now online beta for her opinion. So, fingers crossed there.

I still have the end to sort out and write but I can deliver a rough outline of the end section to go with the rought draft of everything else by next week;) Just have to come up with a decent summary. So I think I'm okay:)
