Title: Artwork for THE LONG GAME by Garonne
Artist:
loxleyprince
Author:
garonne
Archive to Pros Lib: Yes
Genre: Slash
Characters/Pairing: Bodie/Doyle
Warnings: None
Summary:Doyle seems to have betrayed CI5 and taken off to South America with his ill-gotten gains, and Jax finds himself partnered with an unhappy, grim-faced Bodie. He gradually starts to realise what Bodie and Doyle were to each other. That's when Doyle reappears, and suddenly Jax, Bodie and Doyle find themselves at the heart of a complicated plot that will test their loyalties to CI5 and to each other.
Notes: HUGE thanks to my wonderful writer, Garonne, for the opportunity to illustrate her equally-wonderful story. I've had so much fun working with you!
Huge thanks also to the BB mods for the fantastic job they've done getting us all organised for PROS BB 2015. You girls rock! :-)

Date: 2015-10-09 05:00 pm (UTC)I'm glad you like the artwork. When Garonne and I were discussing the styling for it, she said she really liked what I'd done for my 'Crosshairs' pic on AO3, so we agreed I'd do something similar for the artwork for her story. It was a great collaboration and I hope she posts her story soon so everyone can enjoy it!

Date: 2015-10-10 10:22 am (UTC)Paintshop Pro has a really powerful layers capability and I used that A LOT to make the composition of each manip just how I wanted it. i LOVE PSP! :-) Garonne has posted her story online now, so if you want to see where the pictures fit in, do please read it!

Date: 2015-10-10 11:23 am (UTC)I am now so curious what the story is like.
Thank you so much for your hard work!
Just a question. I just wanted to integrate it into the story, but I can't open the files though they are jpg. Am I doing something wrong???

Perhaps you can embed the images more easily by referencing them there? Do please let me know how you get on. If all else fails, if you PM me an email address, I'll send you the actual .jpg files which you can download to your pc and play with them from there. :-)

Date: 2015-10-10 12:19 pm (UTC)But I wanted it to read with your beautiful pictures! And I think I found the right places where they belong. :-)
Btw. I use PSP (X6) as well. But mostly the filters and the 'image artefact remover' tool. I still prefer the very old Picture Publisher. But from your results, PSP looks like a very usefull programme! :-)

Date: 2015-10-10 12:33 pm (UTC)I have PSP X5 and I use the Layers functionality a lot to blend layers in my working .pspimage file. Only when I'm happy with the end result do I actually make a .jpg file from it (and even then I always keep the .pspimage one, just in case I want to play with it again in the future :-) There are some really good vids on youtube.com for PSP and that's where I learnt how to use layers. They're such a powerful manip-ing facility and they've totally transformed how I make my manips. Love PSP layers!

Date: 2015-10-10 08:50 pm (UTC)Good tip with the youtube vids!
I really don't know how long my old programme will work with new operating systems - so I have to work with PSP sooner or later.

Date: 2015-10-10 10:23 pm (UTC)I learnt most of what I know about PSP from youtube videos. The rest came with playing with the software. You're going to love PSP when you get to know it a bit better. :-)

Date: 2015-10-10 05:32 pm (UTC)I think the thing is, it takes only a little time to look at the artwork, and a lot more time to read the stories, and it would take an AWFUL lot of self-control (which I know I certainly don't have!) to not look at the art until after the story had been read. So far, I've looked at the artwork before I've read any of the stories, so I'm as guilty as the rest :-) and completely unrepentant, because who COULD resist a new vid or piccie of Bodie and Doyle? (Not me, clearly!)
Good luck with the editing!!! You're in the home stretch now and the finish line is in sight! Just a little more effort and you'll be done and posting and collecting all the plaudits!!! Run, boothros! RUN!!!! :-)

Date: 2015-10-10 09:55 pm (UTC)-Nah, couldn't do it. You couldnt even PAY me to do it.
'Just a little more effort and you'll be done and posting and collecting all the plaudits!!!'
-Now I REALLY don't know about that one, I was picturing more getting me coat and sloping off...
'Run, boothros! RUN!!!!'
-Believe you me after posting day, I will be, very quickly indeed...

Date: 2015-10-10 10:15 pm (UTC)No! no! no! You're running *to* the Finish Line - not *away as fast as you can once your story has been posted.* Running away after posting is *expressly* prohibited in the BB small print and will likely result in the CI5 stoats chasing after you and hauling you back. Subtle they are not, and they do love a challenge, so don't you be thinking you can outpace them either. Well, not unless you have a racehorse stashed somewhere close... :-)

Date: 2015-10-10 10:23 pm (UTC)'Margaritas will be served shortly, so just make yourself at home' - :)
'You're running *to* the Finish Line - not *away as fast as you can once your story has been posted' - Ahh, you saw through my cunning plan.
'Well, not unless you have a racehorse stashed somewhere close...' I can get a brown one, but not a white one. I can only imagine a white one capable of out running stoat wrath.
