But is there maybe a download possibility for the vid?
Again the same trouble as usual: "This video contains content from UMG. It is not available in your country."

Date: 2010-09-25 01:37 pm (UTC)First of all it's an incredibly intense, gripping, action packed story that would have made a fantastic movie.
Bodie and Doyle are spot on! I SO enjoyed every bit of dialogue, banter and even non verbal exchange between them. It's simply a brilliant portrayal of their unique partnership.
Maggie is an intriguing, exciting, mysterious character. I so loved the rapport she had with Bodie! And that "graphic het sex scene" is just to die for...beautifully and perfectly written...*sigh*
The torture scene had me wincing and flinching...it is SO bloody good and convincing.
Oh and I was very worried about Bodie in chapter 7 and 8! And the ending, which is revealed in the epilogue, is amazing, a great twist!
See! I KNEW I would start to ramble...SORRY! Let me just say that ILWB's vid matched this fantastic story perfectly. I adore the song, it's one of my all time favourites.I absolutely love the atmosphere of the vid, the pics and colours that were chosen. And strong, beautiful Kate Beckinsale just fits in perfectly.
*HAPPYSIGH*

Date: 2010-09-28 10:17 am (UTC)(Well, again I closed my eyes when it came to the torture scenes... :-O)
It's not only a case story where Doyle sleeps with the female character.
(And I wouldn't call it 'het'. 'Het' implicates for me a longer relationship, including all-days problems and routine – that's far from it.)
I think it's a very clever character study of the three protagonists, without ever losing the focus on the close relationship between Bodie and Doyle.
But also without being repetitive or boring.
Magpie is a professional killer. She is also the God-daughter of Cowley.
Bodie is behaviour shows a mixture of understanding, even admiration and protective instinct.
He likes Maggie and they've found a teasing basis.
Doyle hates the (cop) killer Magpie but he is somehow fascinated and learns to accept her – and the reasons why she had chosen that way...
What I like best is the perfect and teasing banter between Bodie and Doyle, but also between them and Maggie. :-)
"Bodie affected shock. It was easy to play off her, he knew. Verbal sparring to hide real concern, and silly words of mock love where friendly affection had begun. It was like playing with a kid sister. Flirting without danger.
"Don't tell Ray," he whispered. "He'd be heartbroken."
"Want you all to himself, does he?"
"Well, can you blame him?"
(That was the slashers-teaser... :-P)
BTW – I think Cowley is spot-on too. Ruthless and politically incorrect, but never mean – just the way we like him! :-)
I caught my breath when he gave his God-daughter a gun, so that she 'won't be alive', when he hands her over to her enemies...
"“They never stipulated that you be alive for the trade,” he said, his voice soft and silken."
*gulps*
Yes, a thrilling story! Thank you!

Date: 2010-10-06 02:34 am (UTC)I'm behind on my reading, and I don't want to rush through such a long, meaty read, but the story is off to a very strong start.
Great title, by the way.

Date: 2010-10-14 11:35 pm (UTC)Bodie took a long drink of tea. "Wait."
"For what?"
He turned his sapphire gaze to Doyle. "For some miserable bastard to make a mistake."
Doyle gave a rueful smile, raising his mug to his lips. "Let's just hope it's not us."
"I'll drink to that."
Nice exchange there. Very lad-like.
I finally got a chance to finish this. I liked it a lot -- it did feel very much like an actual episode, but with an actual attempt to make sense. ;-D (Not that I don't dearly love the eps.)
Anyway, I enjoyed this -- I'm very glad you contributed to the Big Bang!

Date: 2010-10-22 11:05 pm (UTC)A long, meaty story, with the lads and Cowley comletely in character. I loved the banter between Ray and Bodie all the way through. This was probably worthy of more than one episode - maybe a two part story?
And the vid is awesome!

Date: 2010-10-23 12:19 pm (UTC)Thank you for taking the time to read it. It is much longer than I intended, and I expected the length to put people off, so I'm very grateful to anyone who took the time to wade through it all. And I'm really pleased you enjoyed it. Makes it all worthwhile!
Thanks!

Date: 2010-10-25 02:53 pm (UTC)I really enjoyed this and especially loved the banter between Magpie and the lads, it was really *them*: It earned her another approving nod, the black eyebrows raised over the blue eyes. His bottom lip formed itself into a thoughtful pout. He turned to Doyle. “Audi Quattro. Bottle of Laphroaig, and a Beretta. I think I’m in love.”
And I liked the character herself, intriguing and again, very original.
I thought this was a great story: tense, action-packed and well written - like an episode but with the added pleasure of reading their thoughts and having more jokes!
Thanks so much for your time and effort.
