The Artist Housekeeping Post

To give our artists a heads up on the way they'll be claiming their stories, here's an outline of the way we'll be proceeding with the art claims on Thursday, July 7th at 1.00 p.m. EST. (You can use the World Clock Time Zone Convertor to determine the time in your location.)

First, the claiming post will contain all the story summaries, under a cut, and without the writers' names. The post will be screened, so your friendly mods will be the only ones to see all comments.

Each artist should comment to the post, and include your first, second, third, and fourth choices for story claims.

The mods will do a first pass through the list, starting with the first comment, and assign each artist their first story. If your first choice has already been chosen, you will be assigned your second pick.

We chose this method to ensure:

• that every artists gets a reasonable shot of getting a first or second choice, and…
   
• that artists who claim early will at least get their story assigned early, so they can get to work on art as quickly as possible      

Please note that once you have claimed a story, you'll be getting the rough draft of that story, so you don't have to work just from the summary.

the hawk is a mere witless tool of the stoat, a creature of claw and beak but little sense of style and a total lack of understanding of fine ales, but in fairness good for the pecking and swooping! (which i feel is important in the race to bagsy fics)

Sorry for the stupid question but I don't understand how to use this Converter. Whwther or no I suspect it will be the deep night by me and I would like to know what is the deadline with claiming coz I won't be on-line at this 1 pm EST I think.

Apologies for the delay in replying - I'm at work and am rarely able to get online here.

I'm afraid I can't tell you what time it will be for you without knowing where you are/what time zone you're in - but if it helps, the post will be going up at 6PM BST (London time), which will be in 1 hour and 35 minutes from now.

There is no 'official' deadline for claiming stories really. It's usually sorted over 2-3 days. allowing for time differences and people who might be away. It's first come, first served and the stories will be allocated according to artist's named preferences until all stories are claimed. :)
