.
As livejournal appears to be actually letting me in for a few minutes I thought I'd go ahead and try to do this week's check-in post.
How's it going? Yeah, I know, you've already finished and are now lounging about eating bon bons while scantily clad cabana attendants (are there any other kind?) fan you with large palm fronds. I'm psychic, right? Right! :D
So, would you like to share some of your work with us? How about, say, a three to five sentence long sample? Something to whet your readers' appetites?
And I don't mean to exclude our artists but I do understand that it's tougher to share your work without giving the whole game away. Still, if you'd like to share something I'm sure we'd love to see it.
Oh, and of course if you'd just like to say hi and/or a few words about how things are going, that's great too.

Date: 2011-07-28 11:41 pm (UTC)Have definitely got my story all finished and sitting there just waiting for posting time... keenly looking forward to seeing the artwork for it too! (the scantily clad cabana boys all have frostbite - it's been so freaking cold here lately)
I'm not at all averse to a little teasing while we wait. ;)
With a theatrical sigh, Bodie picked up Doyle’s bags and carried them over to a dark red Dolomite that was in slightly better shape than the old blue Cortina Doyle had thought they were being saddled with.
“Oi! What d’you think you’re doing?” Doyle demanded.
Bodie turned around and gave an obvious look at the bags in his hand, and then back up at Doyle. “Even you should be able to work that one out, detective.”

Date: 2011-07-28 11:47 pm (UTC)I'm so looking forward to October!
OMFG a comment!
Date: 2011-07-28 11:49 pm (UTC)Well, I should have known you'd be finished, missy, you over-achiever you. As to allowing
mythe cabana boys to get frost bitten extremities I'm now assuming you didn't carefully read the handbook on their care. *tut tut*Nice tease... so they're taking a trip, eh? Goody.
Re: OMFG a comment!
Date: 2011-07-28 11:54 pm (UTC)LJ has been a major pita this week, when I needed it most because I've been having a shite week. :(
MAYBE they're getting close to having the problem fixed?
*g* Yeah, well... my long-suffering beta is resigned to the way I panic about deadlines long before the deadline is even looming, never mind threatening.
*whistles innocently* Sort of. ;)
Egads!
Date: 2011-07-29 12:01 am (UTC)This is my third attempt to post this comment so we may be easing out of our window of good fortune. I dunno, apparently it's "talk like a bad fortune cookie fortune" day.
It's been boiling hot here so perhaps we can trade a little weather.
Sorry about the shite week, ditto on this end. *hugs you*
Re: Egads!
Date: 2011-07-29 12:07 am (UTC)Oh, yes please! I'm so tired of wearing three layers and wrapping myself in a blanket to sit at my computer. :(
It must be International Shite Week this week... Why weren't we informed? I'm sorry your having a bugger of a week too. *hugstight*
Re: Egads!
Date: 2011-07-29 12:11 am (UTC)Thanks to an evil mate, a fic meme and a prompt involving the Scooby Doo gang, that part of my childhood is now forever tainted. You can't hear it but I'm actually sniggering as I type. *g*
We have 104F, not going below 90F at night and high humidity. If you can use any of it PLEASE TAKE IT!
Re: Egads!
Date: 2011-07-29 12:22 am (UTC)I'd take about twenty of those degrees!(you can keep the humidity though ;P My cough (referred to as Horace 'cause it needs a name if it's going to be with me for the rest of my life) doesn't like humidity) My sister was telling me it was 40C with a humidex of 50C where she lives in Canada - that's just nuts for Canada! And I'm sitting here with apparent temps of 3C or 5C. :(
Re: Egads!
Date: 2011-07-29 01:47 am (UTC)Well, let's just say Shaggy's brownies *cough* led some people astray. *g*
The humidity is unrelenting here, but very unfairly, I think, I don't get to lie about on fainting couches a la Scarlett O'Hara.
I have to admit that your temps sound lovely to me. I thrive in the cold.
Re: Egads!
Date: 2011-07-29 01:54 am (UTC)Humidity is the absolute worst thing to have to deal with, particularly when it's hot. Very unfair that you don't get to lie on fainting couches drinking Mint Juleps while it's so hot and humid. (mind you, how much not fun would it be to have to walk around in all those layers of petticoats and skirts that Scarlet had?)
Mate, if I could find a way to transfer it to you, you could totally have this cold weather! I hate the cold.
