For this week's check in post I thought I would go with a bit of light relief and share this fabulously funny and clever video called The the Impotence of Proofreading with you.

Little warning though, the language is very NSFW.

Lastly as always let us know how you are getting on! Are you are planning to run away to a remote island or are you celebrating already *g*.

That is too, too funny. And yes, a very impotent rull, know hoe to spill. lol

As of Monday, I'm DONE. Yayayayayayay. I finished, had it edited three times and now will try to get a full read-through myself before I chop it into 9 or ten postable sized chapters.

I'm so excited for the next few weeks when we will start reading all the stories. Pre-posting congrats to all! I've betaed two of the stories and know they are great.

I'd also like to add: if you're going to use a thesaurus, PLEASE also use a dictionary.

LOL! I love it... because I know I can make those mistakes. ;D

... and my writing... it's going... but I'm probably going to find mistakes like those he talked about, or my readers will... *sigh* Well, well... *shrug* :P

I celebrated my finished efforts by having a drink or two in a gay pub in Soho - for research purposes only, naturally. :)

Heheh - I do love that vid. :D

And run away you say? Why no...nothing of the sort. *frantically hides suitcase and tickets*

Thanks for that remainder that proofreading is very very impotent. Hee.

I don't know that I'm planning on running away, but I'm certainly in panic mode. Good news: I'm just about to cross the 35,000 word mark. Bad news: I might have up to 5,000 words still to write. Aiiiieeeeeee.

Still, one must persevere, no? ::sigh::

Well, it happens to everybody and here's proof: http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/booksblog/2011/sep/12/shift-typo-romantic-novel-susan-andersen

I'm finished and waiting final art.

The video made me laugh. Thanks for the grin.

That was absolutely hilarious! Spellcheck definitely isn't all it's cracked up to be and nothing can beat having a real person go over your work to avoid embarrassing mistakes.

and is it weird that I wondered just how long he had to practice that to get all those words wrong so consistently? *g*

You have no idea how close this is to my RL just now producing a small broschure where the lady who did the typing made up parts of E-Mails and whole Tel-numbers. Lots of them. Which just was recognized at the very last moment...

However I thought this time to make BB special, I told myself: "What the heck. lets by a pen tablet." so my BB part will be powered by wacom. I have some nice sketches of masked Bodie & Doyle in the making. So all is well there. Just wish me luck with that broschure...

:D

And I'm SURE the brochure will be a mere moment's work with that fancy tablet.

How did I miss this post?... and I totally understand that video, LOL.

I just sent what could be the final draft to the betae and L'artiste. :D I'm stunned, *stunned* I say, that the story has gotten this far. :is stunned:

However, yelling, "I did it! " (mild spoiler) may not be all that socially acceptable.

L'artiste sent me an email, so I know she's doing good. So now I wait for the last comments. I feel like donning an evening gown and raising a glass of champagne, although it's still a little early... Maybe I'll really just go off for a bit and remember what RL was like (visitors in two days).

And note the new icon (although there was only about two days of *that*).

=====================

Actually, one question for the mods: when we posted our summaries, I mentioned I would need to revise mine eventually. And now I can. :D How do I do that?
