Title:For Kicks
Author:Dawnwind [livejournal.com profile] dawnebeth
Artist:[livejournal.com profile] cloudless_9193
Archive to Pros Lib: Yes
Genre: Slash
Character pairing: Bodie/Doyle, Halley/Barnes
Word Count:70222
Warnings: two kinky sex scenes

Summary: After preventing the kidnapping of a wealthy Middle-Eastern businessman's son, Bodie and Doyle are assigned to keep Karim Khorsandi safe until he signs an important oil contract. They team up with private investigators Halley and Barnes who are guarding Khorsandi's racehorse but it all goes awry. Bodie and Doyle have to unravel a complex knot of family loyalties and politics to find their suspect. They'd prefer to have stayed at home playing kinky sex games. Crossover with Racing Game

Notes: Loads of thanks for the Box of Tricks mods for hosting another fantastic Big Bang. It's my second year. I always feel supported and encouraged here. Special thanks to my beta/editors: sc_fossil who actually rented Racing Game from Netflix so she'd know the other characters when she read over the story! Wightfaerie, my Brit checker extraordinaire, and my friend Suzinsf who watches Racing Game but not Pros and edits my stories anyway. Much thanks to Cloudless for gorgeous art for the second year in a row. She recognized my homage to Dick Francis (who created Halley and Barnes of Racing Game) from the title alone.

I don't believe it. My favourite Dick Francis character Sid Halley in a Pros Big Bang fic.

I will be downloading and reading tonight.

Holy moly that's a long story! *grabs with grabby hands*

I shall return to comment once I've read (although that could take a while, I'm very sad to say).

Dawn, this story rocks. I love it. I've read it at least twice while you were writing and I shall read the final text as well. It has great characters and super hot kinky sex.

Watching Racing Game was no trial! I ended up liking Sid and Chico so much that I wish there were more eps. As it was I watched them multiple times. You nailed these blokes in more ways than one! *beg*

Wonderful story.

Cloudless, I love the art! It's gorgeous. Thanks so much for doing it for Dawnie. *g*

Thank you! I enjoy doing this for Dawn. Maybe it's more than coincidence I picked her stories both times. We seem to talk the same language. ;-)

I really enjoyed your story, and now I'm off to re-read the 3 Sid Halley novels. I had a look around for the Racing Game online but it doesn't look like it's available in Australia. I have a vague memory of hiring it from a Video store years ago but don't remember it screening here.

Great story! And hot! I'd not heard of the cross-over characters, but I'm going to check them out! Great plot, lots of action (in and out of "uniform" *g*) and the characterization of the lads was spot on. The art work, as usual from "cloudless" was terrific!

What a treat to have one of my favourite thrillers crossed with Pros! I adore Sid and if I have a complaint it's that we didn't get quite enough of him and Chico! It was also a treat to have a novel length story based around a case with solid relationships in the background instead of personal angst and less casework. Well done for writing very much in the style of Dick Francis!! Well, apart from the sex bits...I 'm not sure he'd have approved of those!*g*

Fantastic - my Sunday afternoon was spent in a blissful haze. Beautiful artwork, great Sid & Chico (I always wanted there to be slash between them, but the great Mr. Francis never went there) and strong, believable Bodie and Doyle. Thank you for a great read which I will return to again!

What a ride that was, and a very enjoyable one too! I liked the crossover aspect and loved Sid and Chico, they complemented the lads beautifully.

Thanks for such a great read.

Gordon Bennett! What a massive fic - and all of it great! Thank you for all your hard work (and the lovely artwork too). I had no idea it was as big when I started - erm, you know what I mean *g* - so I've had to read it in installments. Really enjoyed it - your plot is brilliant, and although I'd never heard of Sid and Chico I'm now totally smitten with them.

Thank you again.
