Title: Here the Whole World
Author: izzie [livejournal.com profile] izzie7
Artist: Lorraine [livejournal.com profile] artconserv
Archive to Pros Lib: Yes
Genre: Slash
Characters/Pairing: Bodie/Doyle
Word count: 20250
Warnings: No warnings apply

Summary: The story is set post Discovered in a Graveyard. When Bodie returns from an undercover operation that has reluctantly taken him away from his convalescing partner for a month, he discovers that all is not well. Doyle's recovery has come to almost a complete halt, so to get him back on track, and ultimately back on the squad, Bodie moves in with him. But it takes a stay on the edges of the Peak District for matters to come to a head.

Notes: This story was largely written some years ago for publication in a zine which never saw the light of day, and my beta was the lovely [livejournal.com profile] callistosh65. It has been revised and extended since then, so any remaining mistakes, inconsistencies or typos are entirely down to me.

I was extraordinarily fortunate to have Lorraine as my artist, whose work complements (and probably outshines) the story. She has many more outstanding illustrations of Bodie and Doyle on her website, so do pay a visit and leave feedback. Her Professionals page can be found here. To view the slash page, you will need to sign in - Username: Slasher Password: p12r23o34s45 (they are case sensitive).

Finally, a big thank you to all the mods for giving up so much of their time to organise this BB, and for being unfailingly patient and helpful!

I must be a dill because I couldn't work out how to get onto Lorraine's slash page to leave a comment so I'll post it here. ***shakes head***

It is an amazing piece of artwork Lorraine, truly beautiful, the colours and the features are amazing. Congratulations on a wonderful piece and I am sure Izzie is thrilled with it. Izzie, I hope to read your story on my upcoming days off. Your blurb has me itching to read. *g*

Wow - I stared reading to get a flavor, figuring I'd get back to it later, and next thing I knew I was finished.

*Really* well written. I think you got the lads down like nobody's business, and it's a really believable premise.

And Lorraine's artwork is incredibly detailed. I looked through her site earlier - she's definitely a fan :D and she's definitely got a great eye.

Thanks very much for writing / drawing / posting!

I found a few hours and settled down for a very enjoyable read, not able to put the story down until the end. I can so imagine how down someone would get after being so physically active and then being invalided. Bodie had a lot of patience but in the end even he had to let fly. I love h/c and this had it in spades! Thanks.

This was great. In many stories, and indeed in the episode, Doyle bounces back from the shooting so easily. Your fic was beautifully written and describes Bodie's care for his partner so well - and thank you for giving it a happy ending! Youlgreave is about ten minutes' drive from me, so I was amused wondering which cottage! Nicely illustrated too.

I loved it! Truly excellent writing - such 'effortlessly' smooth prose (whihc means the reader makes no effort and the writer has worked very hard indeed), and a thoughtful character study. The plot is a credible aftermath to DiaG and the fact that the final scenes took place in my local Peak District was just the icing on the cake.

Your artist is brilliant - I already know her work but was pleased to be reminded of it and to see how she added to your work.

Thank you both, so much!

I don't think we have anything from you in Proslib, unless under another name. (We do have Izzie.)

Would you let me know if there's any contact information you'd like to include, please?

I'm getting caught up on the BB, and read your story all in a rush the last 24 hours. It very definitely had me on the edge of my seat. It was heartbreaking the way you nearly broke Doyle completely, but lovely the way he and Bodie edge gradually towards being together. Well done!

Well here, this is how far behind I am on my reading. *g*

I finished reading your story this morning and just wanted to drop you a line. I really enjoyed the post-action pace of it, the quietness of it, if you will, as these two men worked it out. The pace did a great job of echoing and emphasising Doyle's withdrawal as he's usually so frenetic, even when supposedly at rest.

Thank you for a lovely read. :D
