[identity profile] saintvic.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] ci5_boxoftricks
A big hello and welcome to our latest check in post.

Thought I would start this post with links to a couple of sites that have some great stuff on them:

Internet Movie Car Database – Professionals section

Internet Movie Firearms Database – Professionals section

Next, as it is a Monday and we all need pretty things on a Monday, a few pics for you:

And lastly, as always, let us know how you are getting on in the comments, whether you are thinking, planning, plotting, writing, beta-ing, editing, cheerleading, or, like me, just waiting eagerly.

EDIT: In the comments [livejournal.com profile] golden_bastet linked to the seven point system which looks really interesting.

Tweaking for the sake of tweaking is a disease, isn't it? You're ahead of the pack, I think! yay!

I'm rooting for you!

Is that like the 5 point palm exploding heart technique? I am feeling smug, which is always a dangerous place to be. I have 11,800 words, I have space in my plot to fill to get me up to 15,000 and I have time to do it in. Something's got to go wrong, right? :)

See--you're already made much progress, you can write more! (shakes my pom-poms for you)

It's so easy to be distracted by the shiny. Quantum leaps are sometimes very good things, too. ;-D Keep writing!

Wow, I am amazed you wrote so much in 3 days! I've never done that on my best day. You rock.

And love the icon--whumping Doyle is always a good option in my book.

Nah, nuthin' will go wrong, petal! I think that 'it's all crap' fear is part and parcel of writing--feeling smug is a far better place to be. (shakes my pom-poms for you)

10,000 in 3 days? My God. Were you super-glued to the keyboard?

vague outlines are good - it means you know where you're going, and have loads of time to get there.

Here's hoping.

And I just managed to break 10,000 words and get a good start on a key scene, so hey, things are looking up!

Tea is essential for my life--scotch, not so much. LOL Although, I do love a new drink I discovered at Christmas time called Pennsylvania eggnog which doesn't seem to contain much egg, but lots of cream, whisky, rum and brandy. Hard to find this in the summer at Bev mo, but I just consider that a challenge!

I can't drink proper tea anymore (stupid dietary sensitivity to caffeine), but scotch is about the only variety of alcohol I can tolerate any more (stupid allergies to beer and wine). In moderate quantities, of course. ;-)

That's fantastic news! You're clearly in great shape for finishing, and before the rough draft deadline even!

And hey, I always find giving the story a bit of a rest before taking another run at it is always a good thing.

I applaud you signing up for art as well as a story. That's beyond me at the moment.

It's from Kill Bill. I keep practising but can't quite get it the way David Carradine does :)

Arghhh!! Well my wordcount's gone up only minimally from last check-in, so about 200 words added. This is so much like me doing an essay or project at uni. Yep, it'll be me and the proplus come 2am on 1 July... A big push is needed from somewhere (oh god, shades of the midwife...)

Yay! You can do it! 10,000 words isn't much - you can do that in a month easy!
