The things that I forget are items like the inside toilet and the telephones. It doesn't mention party lines but I know one of my friends was still on a party line in 1976, I think.

We were still on a party line at the start of the eighties! I never, ever understood how those things worked. Generally, we got the phone calls we expected. But every so often, there were other people...
