It's a beautiful weekend here in sunny Blighty - just right for imagining the Lads strolling along in the countryside enjoying each other's company. Or handbrake-turning round corners and taking out dangerous criminals. Y'know...either one. *g*

Don't forget that the Artist Sign-up Post is now open for business, and will stay that way until 31st May, so if you were thinking of joining the fray and having a crack at some Big Bang art or vidding - now's the time! We already have 17 fabulous artists signed up, which is SO exciting, but there's always room for more!

Feel free to tell us how you're getting on with your story. Or if you're an artist, perhaps you're thinking about the style you'll use in you art when the stories are chosen? Questions, comments, wailings for help or jumping for joy - the comments are open for all!

I don't want to formally say it, I don't want to give up all hope, but I'm really deep in the middle of it. Work is in major crunch / high visibility mode, and my parents are not doing well. I really don't see how I can get enough time to write.

All of Doyle's actions (dubious though they may be) will be for naught. And Bodie won't realize Doyle isn't just a random body. ;_;

Although I *do* want to write the story at some point.

Aw, so sorry to hear you're having a hard time, and especially about your parents :(

There's plenty of time to decide whether you can carry on with the story before the rough drafts are due, so as you say, no need to make a decision now.

Nearly there, though the closing scenes won't come together to my (or their) satisfaction. Currently at just over 30k words and there should be maybe 2k more. Beta is waiting patiently and listening to me moan.

Words writted - well, actually, yes, there are some! I don't know whether they'll end up in the final cut, but at least I have some words to edit. Of course, I need another 14,500 words down first before I start moving them all around and replacing them, but there are actual words writted on real paper, yay!

I was going to be all depressed in this checkin, but I think this is reason to be cheerful.

The lads are in north Norfolk and I am getting Doyle onto a horse and the horse onto the beach. And Bodie is sitting in the shelter of the dunes and there is sun and wind and miles of empty sand.

And I need to find out when kite-surfing Became A Thing.

I would rather like to be there myself as I am currently housebound.

In other words, I have story progression and more words, even if I have no idea whether I'll have a reasonable facsimile of a first draft by deadline. I will keep on keeping one, meanwhile.

Yay! Given Norfolk is my homeland, and the north coast is my favourite place on Earth, this makes me most happy :)

Mine too! I am always torn between "Thank God more people don't know it" and "How on Earth are beaches like these so empty?!"

Even when my family lived in London, we'd day-trip up to (Old) Hunstanton, Titchwell, Holkham etc if the weather was good. And went on holiday there usually twice a year. I've been round that coast at least once a year every year of my life.

So it was a natural place to send the lads for some R&R.

How fabulous! My Nana's family came from Great Bircham so we used to go up to Brancaster quite a bit. I love the whole coast, but especially those wild beaches around that area. A couple of years ago on a trip back home I drove up to the coast with my Grandad and we had mussels in the Cliftonville Hotel in Cromer for lunch and then went walking round Morston Marshes. Perfect!
