Title: Wolfkammer
Author name:
moth2fic
Artist name:
smirra
Archive to Pros Lib: Yes
Genre: Slash
Pairing: Bodie/Doyle
Word count: 32,265
Warnings: None
Summary: Cowley lends Bodie and Doyle to the authorities in Germany to help counter possible neo-nazi terrorism. Hints of the supernatural hinder and help their efforts but not everyone believes... During their time in Germany the lads discover new feelings for each other.
Notes: Many thanks to
margaret_r and
firlefanzine for the beta. All remaining errors are a result of pig-headedly ignoring them. Heartfelt thanks to smirra who has produced the beautiful artwork to acccompany this fic. Many thanks, too, to
kat_lair who is standing by ready to pretend currently pretending to be me and post this if I'm still offline on my assigned day!
The story was inspired by
firlefanzine who remarked, wistfully (I thought), that nobody would ever set a Pros story in Wolfkammer, Komp and Mennkausen, which are villages near the place where she lives. Well, with a challenge like that... and we'd just been discussing the supernatural elements of All The Queen's Men, too!! So Wolfkammer is dedicated to her.

Date: 2010-09-26 12:00 pm (UTC)But I've only done that wistful(!) remark about the region where I live, I mean that Bodie and Doyle would never ever solve a case here around...
No, really! I feel honoured!
And you can't believe how much fun it was to read your story, and how happy I am to have a real Pros-location right on my doorstep! :-)
Thank you for that!

Date: 2010-09-27 01:37 pm (UTC)I've downloaded all the stories so far and am about to start reading - I've been offline since the beginning of September till yesterday! So I'm late to the party but I'm looking forward to every moment!

Date: 2010-09-27 09:59 pm (UTC)I've downloaded the stories as well. I haven't been able to read all month because I was trying desperately to finish writing a story in my other fandom. *g* Yours was the first big bang story I read!

Date: 2010-09-28 09:25 am (UTC)Yes, I expect it's going to take me a considerable time to get through all the stories, but hey, that means I won't run out of reading material any time soon. *g*

Date: 2010-10-26 06:43 pm (UTC)Hope it’s Ok to list a few specifics:
I loved the way you placed Bodie and Doyle in a foreign land unsure of themselves in terms of language and culture but always confident of their own particular skills; I liked the sense of ‘place’ you created, even down to the way the German characters spoke English, so much so that I felt I’d actually travelled and stayed in that little village in Germany (and saved the airfare!); and I loved the twist in the tail (sorry!) in the way you had the wolves protecting our lads rather than attacking them.
And generally, some very nice writing:
He stamped down the earth around the buried thoughts.
An intriguing, original read, I couldn’t ask for more! Thanks very much for this.

Date: 2010-10-26 08:19 pm (UTC)It's great to get specific feedback - something that tends to be lacking in big bang challenges partly because people run out of time!! Though it's wonderful to have so many fics to read!
I'm glad I introduced you to Germany, or at least to a Brit view of Germany. And that I made werewolves enjoyable...
