Archive to Pros Lib: Yes
Genre: Slash
Characters/Pairing: Bodie/Doyle
Word count: 53,161
Summary: William Bodie, successful theatre producer, is looking for a lead singer for his new production. Ray Doyle, aspiring singer, is looking for fame and fortune. Will they be able to help each other? Will their relationship recover from their initial encounters?
Notes: I'd like to thank Mella68 for the artwork and for her cooperation in achieving what this writer requested. I'd also like to thank SS, my editor, for her dedication in making me tell this story and then in pulling the spelling, grammar and consistency into shape. Of course, any remaining errors are purely mine. And I mustn't forget ILWB, who led the cheering section, getting me to this point.
To the moderators, thank you for your assistance and understanding. Your information posts were always helpful. To the other writers in the Big Bang 2011, I'm in awe.

Date: 2011-11-30 01:57 pm (UTC)I also totally agree with the way in which Mella's artwork complimented the story. She did both pieces after only seeing the first third of the story. Amazing!

Date: 2011-10-30 09:09 pm (UTC)The artwork is impressive, the montage, the texture, and above all I love the coloring. A beautiful piece of art. The pink teddybear looks great, btw. ;-)

Date: 2011-10-31 02:14 am (UTC)Also enjoyed Mella's artwork and how well it incorporates the key points of the story. I also love the smudge effect, although I don't know what you call that (the smudge effect?).
Thanks very much - and congrats! :D

Date: 2011-10-31 07:00 pm (UTC)And I happen to have been interviewed for a job at the Royal Lancaster so I knew the layout pretty well - not that I used much of it - but it made a change from Theatreland restaurants.

Date: 2011-10-31 05:25 pm (UTC)This was so well written. It would make a really good 'original' novel, with the serial numbers suitably filed off, of course. Rather like Larton!! Have you considered it? You should - there are quite a few m/m e-book publishers who would, I think, be only too pleased with it.
The art is gorgeous and I have saved the 'cover' to use as the virtual cover on Calibre, the program I use to store my 'keepers' and convert them for Kindle viewing.
Thank you both so much for a great deal of pleasure!

Date: 2011-11-01 12:35 am (UTC)I love the artwork. The pink Teddy-bear made me smile (although I'm not sure he deserved his fate! *g*) The montages were beautiful.
Well done, both of you! Join us for chocolate!

Date: 2011-12-14 05:00 pm (UTC)That was such a fun read - thank you! And having read it, I can see how wonderfully the artwork fits it too.
I love the way you've bent the CI5 crew to fit different roles; I fell instantly in love with Doyle's Mum; and the gentle slow romancing and falling in love was realistic, sweet and believable.
Thank you for writing and sharing it with us.
Thank you ...
