The time has come...
Sep. 30th, 2010 08:53 pm...to say farewell.
On behalf of
callistosh65 and myself, I'd just like to thank you all for helping make the first annual Pros Big Bang such a lot of fun.
The the writers, artists, and vidders, thank you so much for generously sharing your talent, creativity, and awesomeness.
To Pros fandom in general, thank you for cheerleading, supporting, and providing encouragement to everyone involved.
To
norfolkdumpling, thank you for contributing such a fabulous banner graphic, and then helping your style sheet-impaired mods get it properly installed on the comm.
And to my lovely co-mod,
callistosh65, thank you for embarking on this whirlwind journey with me, for always being the voice of reason, and always being enthusiastic. It's been a wonderful experience.
Here's hoping we're allmad enough keen enough to do it all again next year.

Date: 2010-10-01 01:13 am (UTC)Thanks again. Speaking for myself at least I'm not at all sure I'd have got around to writing a longer story without the Big Bang and its comararderie. ♥
Hey, by my rough calculation the BB produced 694,735 more words of Pros fic. Not bad, not bad at all. *G*

Date: 2010-10-01 04:41 am (UTC)Thank you both again for all you did to pull this off. Cowley himself couldn't have run a smoother op.
Can't wait for next year.

Date: 2010-10-02 03:39 am (UTC)Thanks for participating. (I'm nearly done your story, and you're killing me.) And I'll be holding you to participating next year.

Date: 2010-10-01 04:46 am (UTC)I especially liked to see the different approaches the artists took with their stories.
And the stories, of course! Not even through a third of them yet, but what I've read and seen so far was absolutely grand.
Oh and thanks for the statistics, quite a word count, wow!

Date: 2010-10-02 03:40 am (UTC)And now that it's all over, I'm looking forward to reading them myself.

Date: 2010-10-01 06:34 am (UTC)Thank you to the mods for doing a terrific job with the organisation. It was certainly a challenge *g*, but the results show it was well worth it.

Date: 2010-10-01 08:04 am (UTC)I'mI sad to realize it is October and that as all good things must it has come to an end and the box of tricks is empty.
Your combined creativity is amazing. I look forward with a hopefully outlook to next September

Date: 2010-10-01 08:35 am (UTC)The stories (and artwork) are all safely tucked away on my hard drive and will be savoured slowly over the coming weeks!
Funnily enough I was just reading the editorial in a Pros zine published in the early 90s and in it the editor explains that she won't be publishing more zines because the fandom is dying and "nobody is writing Pros anymore". I think we could all argue with that statement!
Here's hoping we're all
mad enoughkeen enough to do it all again next year.I hope so! If I start writing now I might even have something ready to post by then! *g*

I've only been sitting on the sidelines, but it's been brilliant fun, and very educational to see fic and art coming together. Being free-time impaired, I've only read and looked at a little of it all so far, but I'm loving every minute. Thank you again. ::snogs you all::

Date: 2010-10-01 03:05 pm (UTC)I'm slowly getting down to reading - I hope people don't mind receiving feedback weeks or months later!
I'm fascinated by the idea of BB as a snapshot (more of a feature-length film, really!)of where Pros fanfic is right now. What are the themes, styles etc. typical of Pros fanfic in 2010? Looking forward to finding out...

Date: 2010-10-01 05:34 pm (UTC)A huge thank you again to the mods for organising this and everyone who had joined in and made this such a brilliant month. Seeing everyone's enthusiasm and hard work has been fantastic.
And like many others I am looking forward to working my way through all the stories.
